What’s the difference between a Real Estate Agent, Broker, and Realtor®?

Upon starting your home buying or selling journey, you may have noticed the many different titles of real estate professionals. So, what’s the difference?

  • A real estate agent is someone who has earned license to sell property by taking 100+ hours of course work and passing a state exam.
  • A broker is someone who has furthered their studies and can hire agents to work under them as a team.
  • A Realtor® can be an agents or broker that is a member of the National Associations of Realtors® (NAR). NAR was created to foster professional behavior among its members. These agents adhere to a detailed code of ethics to treat their clients fair and honestly. Becoming Realtors® was a no brainer for us. We genuinely believe your agent should be by your side and have your best interest at heart, and this is what you can expect from us representing you.
